One marginal rate all the way from MX$17,533.65
On MX$20,000 gross a month in 2026 you receive MX$17,069 net. MX$2,384 goes to ISR and MX$547 to IMSS contributions. From MX$17,533.65 a month the ISR tariff charges 21.36% on the excess, and that rate holds up to MX$35,362.83. It is a very wide band: MX$17,829 of salary with no change in the marginal rate. Most early-career professionals spend years inside it, which keeps the arithmetic simple. Within the band, every thousand pesos of extra gross pay leaves the same net amount, MX$757 after ISR and IMSS. Going from MX$17,000 to MX$20,000 adds MX$2,289 of monthly take-home pay, not three thousand. Keep that ratio in mind when comparing a promotion with a move to another company: the net gap between two offers is always about three quarters of the gross gap at this level.

Comparing offers with the same gross on different terms
Two offers of MX$20,000 are not always worth the same. If one pays part of the package as grocery vouchers or a savings fund within the exemption limits, net pay rises on the same gross; if another is a fee-based contract (honorarios), there is no IMSS or aguinaldo and ISR is worked out differently. This calculation assumes a salaried job with every statutory benefit.
