Take-home pay on MX$15,000 gross in 2026

Reviewed by Radif Partners

From 16% to 17.92%: a narrow bracket

On MX$15,000 gross a month in 2026 you take home MX$13,197, after MX$1,403 of ISR and MX$400 of IMSS. Between MX$12,598.03 and MX$14,644.65 the monthly tariff charges 16% on the excess; from that point it charges 17.92%. A MX$15,000 salary has just entered this fifth bracket, one of the narrowest in the table at MX$2,889 wide before the jump to 21.36%. In practice you keep MX$79 of every hundred extra pesos; the rest goes to ISR at 17.92% and to IMSS. The effective rate, what is actually deducted from the whole salary, is much lower: 12.0 % including IMSS. Mixing up the two rates is the most common mistake when estimating a raise. The marginal rate only hits the slice above the threshold, never the whole salary. Use the marginal rate to price a raise and the effective rate to compare your pay with another country.

Aguinaldo and vacation premium at this level

With the statutory 15 days of aguinaldo you receive MX$7,500 gross in December, of which MX$3,519 is tax-free (30 UMA). The taxable part is added to that month’s pay and taxed at the month’s marginal rate, which is why the December payslip shows heavier withholding than usual. Frequently asked questions

What ISR rate do I pay on 15,000 pesos a month?

Your marginal rate is 17.92%, applied to the amount above MX$14,644.65. Total ISR, however, is MX$1,403, or 9.4 % of your salary, because the tariff adds a fixed fee of MX$1,339.14 and the percentage only applies to the excess. That effective figure is the one to compare across countries.

What is 15,000 a month net per quincena?

About MX$6,599 per quincena. The monthly calculation gives MX$13,197 net; companies paying every fifteen days use the 15-day tariff in Annex 8, whose figures are proportional to the monthly one, so the monthly total ends up practically the same. Any small gap is trued up later.

How much IMSS is deducted from a 15,000 salary?

MX$400 a month in your first year, worked out on a contribution base of MX$524.66 a day that includes the pro-rated aguinaldo and vacation premium. The deduction creeps up with seniority because your vacation days increase every year. The employer pays a much larger share on top.

Why is my aguinaldo taxed more heavily than my normal pay?

Because the taxable part of the aguinaldo, anything above MX$3,519, is added to that month’s income and taxed at your 17.92% marginal rate or higher. The employer may use the article 174 method in the regulations, which spreads that effect and usually withholds a little less.
